In the last couple of years, we’ve seen the appreciation and depreciation of our currency with the major world currencies like the dollar and the pound.

Someone in the 60’s would laugh telling me that her parents could not afford Ksh. 3 to take them back to school so they were forced to take farm animals to the fields for grazing and others were led to early marriage since Ksh. 3 was too much to spend on education.

Value.
In the year 2017, Ksh. 100 could only buy a packet of milk, and a toast of bread or you could have opted for a soda and a doughnut for lunch. You could as well have spent it on transport from Nairobi to Thika and if you were lucky enough you’d receive ksh10 as your balance.
And by the way, you could choose to use that amount to buy airtime and call your granny upcountry to wish her Happy Easter Holidays and you’d not have the Ksh. 100 anymore.

LOVE FOR THE CHILD ASSOCIATION, a non-profit charity organization adapted a system of getting contributions of at least Ksh. 100 every month from it’s members, to educate the needy and vulnerable children in our society.

With this seemingly small contribution, we’ve been able to educate 6 students on a full secondary school scholarship. This contribution goes along way in catering for all the tuition fees, transport, shopping and pocket money for the students.

This is our society we should not sit and fold our hands in the face of such a great need. Let’s join hands and educate our brothers and sisters.
IT IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY to create a better world than we found it.

As little as one hundred shillings, you can brighten someone’s future.
